Meet your Certified GAPS Practitioners, Renee Renz and Edie Brennan.
Renee Renz, MS Holistic Nutrition, CGP
Renee Renz As a child, Renee suffered from constant migraines, nausea, and sinus infections as well as other health issues. Renee originally earned her degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, and worked for many different companies. Realizing that this industry was an undesirable factor in her state of health, Renee left the manufacturing realm in 1995 and took a job as a veterinary technician. In doing so, Renee lowered her stress level enough to become pregnant. Raising a family and seeking to honor the natural desires of her children, Renee sought out a more holistic lifestyle. By altering diet, lifestyle, and attitude Renee came to know a greater sense of wellness and began to experience life without physical suffering. Realizing the impact food has on overall health, Renee pursued an education in nutrition. She completed her Masters in Holistic Nutrition, passed the National Association of Nutrition Professionals boards, and became a Certified GAPS™ Practitioner in 2011.
Renee firmly believes in the phrase “You are what you eat,” adding “and also what you eat eats”. She is a staunch advocate for local farmers and natural food co-ops, an active Weston A. Price Foundation Chapter leader, and a member of the local Holistic Moms Network. Renee is co-founder of GAPS™ Connections support and education group, and provides individualized consultations to anyone seeking to restore their health and vitality through natural, nutritional healing. Edie Brennan, CHFS, CGP
Edie Brennan is a busy mother of three, who began her own journey to achieve health as she struggled with unsuccessful medical treatments for ulcerative colitis as a young adult. After years of increasing treatments, medications, and threatening surgeries, all with no results in symptom reduction, her self guided study lead her to heal rapidly through diet and nutrition.
Edie has been working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder(s) since 1994, and owns Autism and Behavior Consultants, Inc. Her company now provides families with support and direction in finding, developing, and implementing the nutritional and biomedical treatments that are best suited to each child, in addition to the behavioral programs and parent training already offered. She is very passionate about health and wellness for all, and educating others to achieve their optimal health and potential.
As a Master Certified Healing Foods Specialist and Certified GAPSTM Practitioner, she is dedicated to providing dietary services and resources for anyone who wishes to achieve better health, overcome illness, have better immunity and longevity, and live a happier, more balanced life. Having been through a transition to a nourishing, whole foods diet after dealing with the frustrations of poor health, financial strain, and conflicting medical advice, Edie understands how overwhelming the process can seem and strives to make it attainable and practical for everyone based on their own individual needs and situations.
